In another study, 29 individuals with elevated blood cholesterol levels switched to eating muffins made from partially defatted flax seeds. Within three weeks, an 8% decrease in LDL cholesterol was detected (while HDL cholesterol levels did not change). Regular use of flaxseed meal (can be used in pastry or cereal production) also contributes to stabilizing blood cholesterol levels. It is best to eat it in the morning on an empty stomach.
