Weirdest Deep Sea Critter

Postby ABigPileOfTurtles » Mon Jun 20, 2011 2:22 pm

I have always loved watching videos of the deep ocean. For all intensive purposes, it is another world than the one we live in. They deal with thousands of times our atmospheric pressure, survive in a solar-energy free environment, and have a whole slew of unique evolutionary challenges.

Out of all of the Earth's alien-like deep ocean animals, which one stands out to you?

Definitely the Oar Fish. It is the creature that inspired the sea serpent.

The wolf eel aka the old man of the sea. The wolf eel is a fish not an eel.
